I’m assuming that you’re familiar with the usual fall suspects-—brown, black, taupe—and all within that color family. But I’d like to redirect your focus to the major color combo that took over this past Emmys red carpet; one that five women all wore that same night! So what’s this season’s most unexpected color story that will truly make you look innovative? Pink and red color blocking. From red carpet to your closet, this chic trend of the moment will be popping up all over this season. Ahead are three ways I see this working in my wardrobe and how you can easily style these pops of color.
Style 1: Colorblocked Heels
Everyone loves a statement shoe, so why not try color blocking them. I think this is one of the easiest ways to incorporate color, or in this case two, into a look.
Style 2: Statement Suiting
A fashion-forward co-ord jacket-and-trousers combo may seem simple but when color blocked, it’s incredibly forward and current. A statement to say the least. It’s also one of my favorite styling tricks when I need to pull together a look and quick.
Style 3: An Accessory Color Story
Another easy way I find that you can incorporate new color trends into your day-to-day is to color block your accessories. I love to elevate a basic outfit with bold accessories–they really tie everything together.
